• Requires minors adjudicated delinquent at age 16 or older for crimes against persons or felonies to submit DNA samples for the DNA identification registration system under AS 44.41.035.

• Redefines "juvenile probation officer" to mean officers described in AS 47.12.270 and expands their arrest powers to include situations where probable cause exists that a minor violated conditions of release or probation.

• Adds juvenile probation officers, juvenile probation office staff, and staff of juvenile detention and treatment facilities to mandatory reporters of child abuse or neglect.

• Makes technical corrections throughout statutes to update facility terminology and clarifies that minors cannot be held in adult correctional facilities except under specific conditions with separation from adult prisoners.
