Dedicates the fourth floor Senate conference room (Room 431) of the Alaska State Capitol to the late Senate President Jan Faiks

Places a bronze plaque on or near the door commemorating Faiks' service as the first woman in U.S. history elected presiding officer of a state legislative body, serving as Alaska Senate President in 1987 and 1988

Honors Faiks' contributions including helping create the constitutional budget reserve fund, instituting a legislative dress code, and establishing rules of decorum

Recognizes Faiks' prior service as counselor and teacher in Anchorage schools (1968-1978), her work with the Anchorage Women's Club Free Committee, and her two-term tenure in the Alaska State Senate representing the Anchorage Hillside beginning in 1982

Directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to the family of Senator Jan Faiks, who passed away on April 10, 2017
