Director may renew leases for aquatic farming, aquatic plants, and shellfish hatchery operations issued under AS 38.05.075, 38.05.083, or 38.05.810 upon expiration if the lease is in good standing and renewal serves the state's best interests.

Lease renewals are limited to one renewal only for a term not longer than the initial lease term.

Removes the requirement for public notice and comment procedures during lease renewal decisions for aquatic farming sites, applying these procedures only to new lease issuances.

Commissioner may deny lease applications for good cause and must provide written findings explaining the reasons for denial.

Authorizes commissioner to renew or extend aquatic farming leases under the same procedural framework established in AS 38.05.070.
