• Authorizes municipalities to regulate trapping within their boundaries to protect persons and property, and allows exemptions for trappers for good cause.

• Permits municipalities to enact ordinances requiring trap identification, signage or notice requirements for traps, restrictions on trap types likely to cause injury or damage, and prohibitions on trap placement in dangerous areas.

• Applies to both home rule and general law municipalities while preserving the authority of the Department of Environmental Conservation, Department of Fish and Game, and Department of Public Safety to exercise their respective powers.

• Prohibits municipalities from enacting ordinances that eliminate reasonable opportunities for subsistence trapping of game within their boundaries.

• Takes effect January 1, 2020.
