HB 150 Summary

• Requires all state elections and local elections conducted by the state to be conducted by mail beginning August 16, 2022, eliminating polling places and absentee ballots.

• Establishes voting centers open for 10 days before election day and on election day where voters may deposit ballots, request replacements, or register; designates ballot drop boxes at each voting center open for at least 8 hours until 8:00 p.m. on election day.

• Creates a free online ballot tracking and voter registration verification system allowing voters and election officials to track ballot receipt and determine whether ballots were counted and reasons for rejection.

• Requires election materials and ballots to be provided in languages required under federal law (52 U.S.C. 10503) based on voter preference indicated during registration.

• Takes effect January 1, 2020, with mail-in voting beginning August 16, 2022.
