Adds exemptions from assault charges (third and fourth degrees) and reckless endangerment for defensive display of a firearm by any person.

Removes "acting within the scope and authority of employment" requirement for peace officer exemptions from weapons misconduct charges, allowing current or former peace officers who have not been convicted of a felony to possess weapons regardless of duty status.

Lowers age threshold from 21 to 18 years old for concealed weapon possession in schools and child care facilities, and permits business owners and employees to possess loaded firearms at establishments serving food.

Defines "defensive display of a firearm" to include openly carrying a firearm, verbally informing others of firearm possession, holding a firearm without pointing at another person, and displaying or warning of a firearm to dissuade a threat.

Changes "contacted by" to "requested by" a peace officer for duty to disclose concealed deadly weapons, and removes requirement to designate restaurants specifically under alcohol law provisions.
