Alaska House of Representatives expresses support for the National Native American Veterans Memorial, scheduled to open on Veterans Day 2020 at the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C., with a design concept titled "Warriors' Circle of Honor"

Memorial will honor the military service of American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians from the Revolutionary War to present across all branches of service

Native Americans have historically served in U.S. armed forces in numbers exceeding their population representation and have been decorated for valor and distinguished service

The National Museum of the American Indian provides an ideal location for the memorial by advancing knowledge and understanding of Native American cultures, history, language, and contributions to the United States

The memorial will provide all Americans the opportunity to learn about the proud tradition of Native American military service and sacrifice
