Legislature finds that affordable aircraft travel is essential transportation in Alaska due to vast geography and limited road system, important to community socioeconomic well-being and citizen health.

Department of Transportation and Public Facilities may not increase or impose new charges, rentals, or fees under Title 2 (public lands) without first obtaining legislative approval after the effective date.

Commissioner may not increase or impose new charges, rentals, or fees under specific aviation-related provisions (sections (a), (h), or (i) of AS 02.15.090) without first obtaining legislative approval after the effective date.

Act takes effect immediately upon enactment under AS 01.10.070(c).
