Adds provision that employment as a peace officer is not a defense to prosecution for impersonating a peace officer.

Excludes from the definition of "peace officer" any person convicted of a felony, sex offense, or domestic violence crime in Alaska or another jurisdiction.

Prohibits appointment as a police officer or village police officer for anyone convicted of a felony, sex offense, or domestic violence crime, permanently or on probationary basis.

Defines "village police officer" as an employee of an incorporated city or municipality off the contiguous Alaska road system with population under 2,000 who has authority to arrest, issue citations, conduct investigations, and maintain public peace.

Requires the Alaska Police Standards Council to establish standards for village police officers by regulation and requires criminal history record checks for police training program applicants and police officer or village police officer certification candidates.
