State agencies, municipalities, the University of Alaska, and school districts are prohibited from banning individuals from wearing tribal regalia or carrying objects of traditional cultural significance at public events.

"Public event" is defined to include award ceremonies, graduation ceremonies, public meetings, and other events held or sponsored by the specified entities.

"Tribal regalia" means clothing, accessories, and objects of cultural significance worn or carried during traditional tribal ceremonies, celebrations, or gatherings.

The Department of Administration must send written or electronic notice of this Act to each federally recognized tribe in Alaska.

The Act takes effect immediately upon passage.
