SB 38 Summary

• Appropriates $1,000,000 in federal receipts to the Department of Labor and Workforce Development for disaster unemployment assistance benefit payments during fiscal years 2019 and 2020

• Appropriates $7,900,000 from the general fund to the Department of Natural Resources for fire suppression activities during fiscal year 2019

• Appropriates $65,000,000 in federal receipts to the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities for federal highway surface transportation disaster repair, plus $6,500,000 from the general fund to match these federal receipts

• Appropriates $1,000,000 from the general fund to the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities for earthquake damage to state facilities not covered by insurance and $1,000,000 for noncovered surface transportation costs caused by the Southcentral earthquake

• Increases the disaster relief fund capitalization from $9,000,000 to $46,002,333 in federal receipts and appropriates an additional $21,901,715 from the general fund for a total capitalization of approximately $67.9 million
