SB 75 Summary

• Lowers the minimum age to obtain a commercial driver's license for intrastate commerce from 19 to 18 years old in Alaska.

• Allows 18-year-olds (who are under 21) to operate commercial motor vehicles in interstate commerce if they hold a valid commercial driver's license and are authorized under federal law.

• Maintains the 21-year-old minimum age requirement for interstate commerce operations, except for those meeting the new 18-year-old authorization under federal law.

• Requires the Department of Administration to adopt regulations necessary to implement the changes made by this Act.
