AK SB99

Amends AS 16.05.251 to require the Board of Fisheries to prioritize restrictions on all other fisheries before restricting personal use fisheries when harvest limits are needed to achieve a management goal.

Defines "management goal" as the escapement or estimated population size of an exploited stock that provides the greatest potential for sustained yield as established by the board.

Creates an exception to this priority provision for restrictions allowed under AS 16.05.258.

Introduced March 25, 2019 and referred to the Resources and Finance committees.
