Proposes amending Article IV, Section 8 of the Alaska Constitution to add legislative confirmation requirement for attorney members of the judicial council.

Three attorney members appointed by the organized state bar's governing body must now be confirmed by a majority of legislature in joint session (previously had no such requirement).

Three non-attorney members continue to be appointed by the governor for six-year terms, subject to confirmation by majority of legislature in joint session.

Chief justice of the supreme court remains as ex-officio seventh member and chairman; all other provisions regarding area representation, political affiliation, and council operations remain unchanged.

Amendment must be placed before voters at the next general election in accordance with Article XIII, Section 1 of the Alaska Constitution.
