HB 1 Summary

• Legislative Budget and Audit Committee shall direct the legislative audit division to conduct a special audit of CARES Act (P.L. 116-136) funds expended for the community assistance program and direct grants to municipalities and communities.

• The office of management and budget shall conduct a separate audit of the same CARES Act funds to determine the propriety of expenditures.

• Both the legislative audit division and office of management and budget must deliver their audits and written reports to the senate secretary and chief clerk of the house of representatives on or before January 20, 2022.

• The legislature must be notified that the audits and reports are available for review.
