HB 187 Summary

• Requires the governor to submit a bill in every even-numbered year to eliminate or modify state agency publication requirements that are identified as outdated, duplicative, excessive, or improvable through consolidation.

• Mandates each state agency compile a complete list of all publications required by law, regulation, or legislative direction and identify which publications could be delivered electronically instead of physically.

• Requires state agencies to electronically submit their publication lists to the governor, senate secretary, and chief clerk of the house of representatives by October 31 of every even-numbered year.

• Defines "state agency" to include departments, institutions, boards, commissions, divisions, authorities, public corporations, and other executive branch administrative units, including the University of Alaska.

• Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
