Requires the director to mail notice of the rejected ballot cure process to voters within 3 days of rejection and no later than 10 days after the election, and permits notification by telephone, email, or text message.

Allows voters to cure absentee ballots rejected for failure to sign, date, or provide proof of identity by appearing in person or submitting a sworn affidavit within 10 days after the election.

Enables voters whose ballots were rejected on or before election day to attest in a sworn affidavit and cast a questioned ballot on election day.

Makes ballot status information immediately available to voters through a free access system after the director receives the rejected ballot, eliminating previous waiting periods.

Takes effect June 1, 2022.
