Department of Health shall develop and implement an evidence-based, data-informed statewide dementia awareness campaign promoting screening, early diagnosis, and treatment of dementia.

Department must use a public health approach to improve dementia services and awareness, collect data to set priorities, and work with care systems to improve early diagnosis and workforce development.

Department shall focus on changing systems and policies to promote risk reduction, prevent comorbidities, and avoid hospitalizations for persons affected by dementia.

Beginning January 1, 2024, department must submit biannual reports to the legislature describing accomplishments, barriers, and recommendations for dementia care priorities in the state.

The law repeals on July 1, 2030, and takes effect immediately upon enactment.
