• Appropriates $20,000,000 from the general fund to the Department of Education and Early Development for grants to school districts to support student recovery from COVID-19 academic losses.

• Distributes funds to school districts based on average daily membership adjusted under Alaska Statute 14.17.410(b)(1)(A) - (D) for fiscal year ending June 30, 2022.

• Requires school districts to report to the Department of Education and Early Development by January 15, 2022 on use of appropriated funds.

• Requires the Department of Education and Early Development to compile district reports and submit to the legislature by January 31, 2022, notifying them the report is available.

• Takes effect July 1, 2021.
