AK HJR2

Reduces the maximum duration of regular legislative sessions from 120 consecutive calendar days to 90 consecutive calendar days.

Allows a regular session to be extended once for up to 10 additional consecutive calendar days with an affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of each house membership.

Requires the legislature to adopt deadlines for scheduling session work in its uniform rules of procedure, consistent with the new session length limits.

The amendment first applies to the First Regular Session of the Thirty-Third Legislature beginning in 2022.

Places the proposed constitutional amendments before voters at the next general election for voter approval.
