AK SB118

Establishes a permanent interim committee on nullification of federal laws composed of the chairs of the senate and house judiciary committees, the chairs of the senate and house state affairs committees, and one member of the largest minority caucus from each house.

Designates the chairs of the senate and house judiciary committees as co-chairs, who may call committee meetings when the legislature is not in session after considering available resources.

Authorizes committee members to request review of any federal statute, regulation, or executive order to determine whether it exceeds powers delegated to the federal government under the U.S. Constitution.

Permits the committee to introduce resolutions recommending state nullification of federal laws by withholding state resources, encourage the attorney general to file constitutional challenges, introduce nullifying bills, introduce bills that legalize acts prohibited by federal law, or submit findings and recommendations to the legislature.

Allows the committee to review any federal statute, regulation, or executive order including those enacted before this Act takes effect.
