SB 134 Summary

• Reduces the lookback period for certain criminal convictions from 15 years to 5 years when determining master guide-outfitter license eligibility and revocation, but only if the person was imprisoned for more than one day or received an unsuspended fine exceeding $1,500

• Adds a new requirement that applicants must not have had a hunting, guiding, outfitting, transporter, or similar license suspended or revoked in Alaska or another jurisdiction within the 5 years preceding application

• Maintains existing qualifications including 15 years of licensing history in the last 20 years, submission of at least 45 client references with 30 favorable evaluations required

• Makes sections 1 and 2 retroactive to September 14, 2019

• Takes effect immediately upon enactment
