CSSB 86(L&C) - Temporary Licenses, Permits, and Certificates

• Establishes a unified temporary license, permit, or certificate system under AS 08.01.062 for individuals holding equivalent credentials in good standing from other jurisdictions, valid for one year.

• Requires the department to issue temporary licenses to spouses of active duty armed forces members within 10 business days of receiving a complete application.

• Removes specific fee listings for temporary permits across multiple occupational licensing chapters (aesthetics, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, physical therapy, veterinary medicine, etc.) and consolidates fee-setting authority under AS 08.01.065.

• Repeals multiple outdated temporary permit and license statutes while renaming "temporary supervised practice licenses" in certain professions and clarifying references throughout Alaska statutes to use the new unified temporary licensing framework.

• Effective date: January 1, 2022.
