CS FOR SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 11(RES)

• The Alaska State Legislature supports development of a high-voltage electrical transmission line running from Sutton to Glennallen, Gakona, Tok, and north through the upper Tanana region to Delta Junction.

• The proposed road belt electrical transmission line would support the Trans Alaska Pipeline System operations, provide low-cost energy to 17 small communities relying on diesel power, and enhance reliability during natural disasters.

• The line would establish a second secure electrical transmission path from Anchorage to Fairbanks and provide low-cost, reliable, and redundant energy to five military installations: Black Rapids Training Site, Donnelly Training Area, Fort Greely, Eielson Air Force Base, and Clear Air Force Station.

• The transmission line would support economic growth, small business development, and expansion of the agricultural industry in the Delta Junction area.

• The Legislature urges Alaska's congressional delegation to pursue federal support for the road belt electrical transmission line project.
