Alaska State Legislature recognizes the strategic, economic, environmental, and cultural importance of the Alaska-Canada relationship as Arctic global significance increases.

United States and Canada maintain the world's longest border at 5,522 miles, with 1,538 miles along Alaska's eastern frontier with Yukon Territory and British Columbia.

Alaska and Canada conduct $1.3 billion in annual bilateral trade including metals, minerals, energy, and seafood, supporting more than 10,900 jobs and 50 Canadian-owned companies employing 4,500 state residents.

More than 325,000 Canadians visit Alaska annually, spending over $316 million; Alaska and Canada share transportation infrastructure including the Alaska Highway and NORAD partnership spanning over 60 years.

Legislature honors the Alaska-Canada alliance and commits to continued cooperation on trade, tourism, cultural exchange, and the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
