Calls on President Biden to immediately end Russia's embargo on U.S. seafood imports or impose a reciprocal embargo on Russian seafood entering the United States until a trade agreement restoring Alaska seafood market access is secured.

Russia instituted the seafood embargo in 2014, affecting almost all U.S. seafood categories including fish, crustaceans, mollusks, and aquatic invertebrates.

Alaska seafood exports to Russia totaled $61,300,000 in 2013 before the embargo, and the loss of this market has reduced product values and imposed significant ongoing costs on Alaska's seafood economy.

Russian seafood imports to the U.S. have increased 173 percent since 2013 while entering duty-free, creating competitive disadvantage for Alaska seafood producers in domestic and global markets.

Resolution directs copies to be sent to President Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai, and Alaska's congressional delegation.
