Amends AS 01.10.060(a)(8) to define "person" as including natural persons, human entities with moral right of self-determination, and various business entities, while explicitly excluding environmental elements, artificial intelligence, animals, and inanimate objects

Amends AS 11.81.900(b)(47) to define "person" in criminal law as natural persons or human entities with moral right of self-determination, organizations, governments, or governmental instrumentalities, while excluding environmental elements, artificial intelligence, animals, and inanimate objects

Adds new definition AS 11.81.900(b)(69) defining "life" as the property or quality distinguishing a living human organism from dead organisms or inanimate matter, manifested through metabolism, growth, reproduction, response to stimuli, or environmental adaptation

New definitions apply only to offenses committed on or after July 1, 2024

Takes effect July 1, 2024
