Creates gun violence protective orders allowing peace officers or household members to petition district or superior courts to prohibit individuals deemed dangerous from possessing, owning, purchasing, or receiving firearms or ammunition.

Establishes three types of gun violence protective orders: standard orders (effective six months with 10 days' notice), ex parte orders (effective 20 days based on preponderance of evidence), and emergency orders (effective 72 hours issued ex parte by judicial officers).

Requires respondents to surrender all firearms and ammunition to law enforcement within 24 hours of receiving an order and file proof of surrender within 48 hours; law enforcement retains firearms until order expiration then returns them.

Amends violating protective order crime under AS 11.56.740 to include gun violence protective orders and expands the central registry maintained by Department of Public Safety to track all protective orders.

Authorizes district judges and magistrates to issue gun violence protective orders and takes effect July 1, 2023, contingent on two-thirds majority legislative approval of court rule amendments.
