HB 204 Summary

• Adds new overtime pay exemption for employees at facilities licensed under AS 47.32.010(b)(1), (4), (5), (6), (8), or (12)-(14) who work under a voluntary flexible work hour plan.

• Requires both a signed written agreement between employee and employer filed with the department and department-issued certificate approving the plan to qualify for exemption.

• Exempts work up to 40 hours per week and 12 hours per day from overtime requirements under an approved flexible work hour plan.

• Requires time-and-a-half compensation for any work exceeding 40 hours per week or 12 hours per day under a flexible work hour plan not covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

• Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
