Imposes a six percent tax on room rent for lodging in Alaska, effective July 1, 2024.

Exempts room rentals exceeding 30 days and official travel by federal, state, and foreign government officials when prohibited by federal law or treaty.

Room rental network companies and individual room providers must collect and remit the tax to the state department, with network companies required to register with the department.

The state bed tax applies in addition to any room rental taxes imposed by municipalities.

Defines "room rent" as payment for temporary lodging in hotels, motels, or similar facilities, and "room rental network" as online platforms enabling prearrangement of room rentals with personal room owners.
