HB 318 - Charity Protection Act

• Establishes the "Charity Protection Act" as the short title for legislation protecting nonprofit corporation disclosure requirements in Alaska.

• Prohibits the state commissioner from requiring domestic or foreign corporations to disclose "protected information" in biennial reports or other documents.

• Defines "protected information" as any list, record, register, registry, roll, roster, or other compilation of data that directly or indirectly identifies a person as a donor of financial or nonfinancial support to a nonprofit organization.

• Exempts protected information from requirements in articles of incorporation and articles of merger or consolidation for nonprofit corporations.
