AK HB64

Provides free resident hunting, trapping, and sport fishing licenses to active members of the Alaska National Guard and U.S. military reserves (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard reserves).

Establishes permanent sport fishing, hunting, and trapping identification cards available without charge to disabled veterans with 50 percent or greater service-connected disability and those who served in the Alaska Territorial Guard with 50 percent or greater disability.

Removes prior provisions making free licenses available to disabled veterans and instead establishes the permanent identification card system as the mechanism for disabled veteran benefits.

Modifies waterfowl conservation tag and anadromous king salmon tag requirements to reference the new permanent identification card system issued under AS 16.05.400(b).

Effective date: January 1, 2024.
