Unit owners in planned communities may change the exterior appearance of portions of their units that are not visible to other unit owners or the public without association permission.

Unit owners may remove or alter intervening partitions between their unit and an adjoining unit they acquire, including common elements, if the work does not impair structural integrity or mechanical systems and complies with applicable codes.

Removal of partitions or creation of apertures is clarified to not constitute an alteration of unit boundaries.

Planned community associations cannot foreclose on a lien for a delinquent unit unless they first offer the unit owner a payment plan to repay the delinquent amount over an extended period.

Unit owners' associations are prohibited from restricting or prohibiting leasing or renting of units based on a tenant's method of payment, including rental assistance from government or nonprofit programs.
