Removes "investigation fees" from the list of occupational licensing fees that the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development may charge.

Redefines "regulatory costs" to exclude costs attributable to disciplinary investigations and actions involving unlicensed practice, as well as legal and actual costs associated with complaints, hearings, mediation, and settlement.

Requires the department to set fees so that total collections for each occupation approximately equal actual regulatory costs, with annual reviews and adjustments reported to the office of management and budget.

Replaces references to "investigation fees" with "evaluation" in various occupational licensing statutes covering examination, application, and credential review activities.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
