SB 38 Summary

• Creates new crime of interference with emergency communications under AS 11.56.785, classified as a class B misdemeanor

• Prohibits knowingly making repeated emergency communications to report a previously reported incident with no change in circumstance, after being instructed to stop, with intent to cause emergency response

• Prohibits knowingly making repeated emergency communications when there is no police, fire, or medical emergency

• Prohibits threatening an emergency communications worker during an emergency communication

• Applies to offenses committed on or after the effective date of the Act
