Increases income eligibility for pregnant women from 175% to 225% of the federal poverty line for Medicaid coverage under AS 47.07.020(b)(14).

Allows pregnant women eligible for Medicaid to remain eligible for benefits postpartum up to the maximum period authorized under federal law, which is 12 months under 42 U.S.C. 1396a(e)(16).

Requires the Department of Health to submit amendments to the state Medicaid plan to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for approval to implement the income increase and extended postpartum coverage.

Makes the bill's provisions conditional on federal approval, with the Commissioner of Health required to notify the Revisor of Statutes within 30 days of federal approval.

The provisions take effect on the day after the Revisor of Statutes receives notice of federal approval from the Commissioner of Health.
