AK SB71

Amends AS 26.05.260(i) to allow Alaska State Defense Force members to receive pay or allowances for training or community service activities under specified conditions, replacing the previous blanket prohibition.

Requires the governor or adjutant general to authorize any training or community service activity and specify the reason for the activity and the funding source for any pay or allowances.

Maintains that members continue to receive allowances for active state service under the same terms as other state officials and employees under AS 39.20.110 - 39.20.170.

Takes effect July 1, 2023.
