Renames all existing "state game refuges," "state game sanctuaries," and "critical habitat areas" to "wildlife refuges" and "wildlife sanctuaries" for uniform management across approximately 30+ designated areas throughout Alaska

Prohibits brown bear hunting in specified areas near McNeil River Wildlife Sanctuary and Katmai National Park, covering multiple townships in the Seward Meridian

Expands boundaries of several refuges including Izembek, Cape Newenham, Cinder River, and others by adding additional township sections and removing previous exclusions for tide and submerged lands

Allows hunting, trapping, fishing, subsistence activities, wildlife viewing, and recreation in wildlife refuges while authorizing the department to close areas for public safety; permits firearms discharge during lawful activities unless restricted by regulation

Requires the Department of Natural Resources and Department of Fish and Game to update signs, literature, and publications to reflect the name changes; takes effect immediately upon passage
