Prohibits insurance companies in Alaska from refusing coverage, canceling policies, denying claims, or raising premiums solely because a person holds elected office

Covered elected officials include state legislators, governor, lieutenant governor, congressional delegation members, constitutional convention delegates, borough/city mayors, and local assembly, council, or school board members

Exempts insurance decisions based on sound underwriting or actuarial principles related to actual or anticipated loss experience

Exempts actions required or authorized by existing law or regulation

Applies to insurance policies issued, delivered, or renewed on or after the effective date of the Act
