Establishes maximum pupil-teacher ratios in Alaska public schools: 24:1 for grades K-3, 26:1 for grades 4-8, and 28:1 for grades 9-12

Exemptions apply to art, library, music, computer science, vocational-technical, honors-level, and physical education courses

Requirements do not apply to districts with 40,000 or fewer students in average daily membership, or when governing bodies determine insufficient funding or that compliance would hinder education

Districts must publicly post average classroom sizes by grade level on their websites by February 1 each year and report pupil-teacher ratios to the department

Transition period allows higher ratios until July 1, 2028 if classroom enrollment has declined by two or more students compared to the previous year; effective date is July 1, 2025
