Increases occupational disability benefits for peace officers and firefighters from 40% to 75% of gross monthly compensation after the first 12 months of eligibility

Applies to employees covered under AS 39.35.410(d) and AS 39.35.890(d) of the Public Employees' Retirement System

Disabled members become fully vested in employer contributions at the time of disability appointment

Employers must continue making contributions to the employee's individual retirement account while the employee receives disability benefits, without deduction from disability payments

Takes effect immediately upon passage
