Municipalities with populations of 25,000 or more are prohibited from banning automated traffic safety cameras

Applies to both home rule and general law municipalities in Alaska

Automated traffic safety cameras are defined as devices using vehicle sensors that work with intersection traffic controls, railroad crossing signals, or speed measuring devices to automatically photograph vehicles running red lights, ignoring railroad signals, or exceeding speed limits

Amends AS 29.35 by adding new section 29.35.143 to Alaska statutes governing municipal powers
