Disabled veterans would receive free lifetime state park permits (changed from annual permits) for developed campsites, parking, and restrooms

Permits automatically renew every five years upon confirmation of the permit holder's mailing address

"Disabled veteran" defined as a person whose disability was incurred or aggravated in U.S. military service or while serving in the Alaska Territorial Guard

Department must report annually by February 1 on the number of permits issued to disabled veterans during the previous calendar year

Effective date: January 1, 2026
