Establishes that the 34th Alaska Legislature interprets the constitutional phrase "shall meet immediately" as a mandatory requirement to convene in joint session when the governor vetoes a bill or item

Vetoes received during session require an immediate joint session for reconsideration

Vetoes received after adjournment of the first regular session must be reconsidered no later than the fifth day of the next regular or special session

Vetoes received after adjournment of the second regular session must be reconsidered within five days if a special session is called; if no special session is called, no reconsideration will occur

References the 1956 Constitutional Convention, where delegates voted 39-12 to insert "immediately" specifically to prevent the house of origin from "sitting on the bill and allowing the veto to kill it"
