HB364 Summary

• Prohibits business entities, property owners, tenants, and public or private employers from establishing or enforcing policies that ban transporting or storing firearms or ammunition in privately owned motor vehicles when the items are locked out of sight in the trunk, glove box, or other enclosed compartment.

• Declares any policy or rule established or enforced in violation of this prohibition to be contrary to public policy, null and void, and without legal force or effect.

• Exemption applies to motor vehicles owned by business entities, property owners, or employers when used by their agents or employees during employment, and to facilities or property owned or controlled by entities engaged in electricity generation, transmission, or distribution.

• Effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
