AL HB465

Creates the crime of continuous sexual abuse of a child, defined as intentionally engaging in three or more acts of sexual conduct with a child under age 16 years when the first act occurred.

Defines "sexual conduct" to include sexual acts covered under Alabama Code Sections 13A-6-61, 13A-6-62, 13A-6-63, 13A-6-64, 13A-6-65.1, 13A-6-66, and 13A-6-67.

Classifies continuous sexual abuse of a child as a Class A felony.

Excludes the bill from Amendment 621 constitutional requirements regarding local expenditures because it defines a new crime.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
