Creates an additional circuit judgeship designated as judgeship number 3 in the Twenty-seventh Judicial Circuit, comprised of Marshall County.

First judge to fill the position shall be elected at the general election in 2012, following preclearance under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Elected judge shall serve a six-year term, beginning the first Monday following the second Tuesday in January after election.

New circuit judge shall have all jurisdiction, powers, rights, authority, qualifications, and duties identical to other circuit judges in the circuit.

Judge's annual compensation shall be in accordance with Chapter 10A, Title 12, Code of Alabama 1975, with no salary supplement or expense allowance for judges first elected after October 1, 2001.
