• Defines "hospital pharmacy services permit" as authorization granted by the State Board of Pharmacy to persons, firms, or corporations offering or performing hospital pharmacy services, specifically excluding requirements for receipt or inventory of drugs, medicines, medical devices, chemicals, or poisons.

• Allows employed or contracted hospital pharmacists to provide pharmacy services to hospital patients from locations outside the physical hospital pharmacy location under a hospital pharmacy services permit.

• Establishes hospital pharmacy services permits on an annual basis with application fees not to exceed $100, compared to biennial permits for traditional pharmacies with fees of $100-$200 for new applicants.

• Requires the State Board of Pharmacy to promulgate implementing rules within three months after consulting with the Alabama Society of Health System Pharmacists.

• Takes effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
