• Amends Section 16-24-12 of the Alabama Code to clarify that teachers are deemed offered reemployment at the same salary for the succeeding school year, including salary from supplemental positions, unless the board of education provides written notice by the last day of the preceding school term.

• Requires local boards of education to notify teachers in writing of any reduction in compensation resulting from the loss of a supplemental position on or before the last day of the preceding school term.

• Clarifies that the existing notice requirement applies to both regular salary and supplemental position compensation.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
