Amends Section 16 of Act 97-663 to allow each Macon County commission member to elect to direct a crew to maintain unpaved roads in their district.

Commission members directing crews become custodians accountable to the county commission for all road machinery, equipment, tools, supplies, and repair parts used by their crews.

Crew personnel and equipment are determined by the county commission in session, with expenses drawn from the overall budget for construction, maintenance, and repairs of county roads, bridges, and ferries.

County commission must establish policies and regulations governing accountability for county-owned equipment, and requisition requests must be routed through the county engineer or presented to the commission in session.

Effective date is the first day of the third month following passage and governor approval; House passed 30-MAR-10 and Senate passed 13-APR-10.
